Pharmaceutical Form: Peptide for reconstitution | Family: IGF-1 splice variant (IGF-1 Ec)
Presentation
Each 2ml multi-dose vial contains 2mg/vial, with Keifei® wording imprinted on the side. Vials feature a greenish-blue flip-off cap stamped with Keifei®. Supplied as:
- 3 × 2mg vials + 3 × 2ml ampoules of bacteriostatic water, seated in a plastic insert inside a white & blue box.
- One set of 10-digit authentication codes affixed to the plastic tray.
About MGF
Mechano Growth Factor (MGF) is a splice variant of IGF-1 (designated IGF-1 Ec in humans; IGF-1Eb in rodents). It is termed “mechano” because its RNA expression in muscle rises in response to mechanical overload and/or tissue damage.
Mechanism & Biology
- C-terminal (E-domain): A crucial region generated by alternative splicing (encoded by exon 5 and the first part of exon 6) that distinguishes MGF from other IGF-1 isoforms.
- Alternative splicing: A reading-frame shift produces a unique E-domain that can act functionally independent from the rest of the molecule.
- Differential actions: MGF is associated with satellite cell proliferation, whereas IGF-1 (other isoforms) more strongly induces myogenic differentiation.
Key Points
- Muscle-damage/overload–responsive IGF-1 splice variant.
- Unique E-domain underlies distinct bioactivity vs. canonical IGF-1.
- Often explored for roles in muscle repair and adaptive remodeling.
Authentication & Packaging
- Keifei® imprint on vial side; greenish-blue cap with Keifei® stamp.
- Plastic tray carries a 10-digit authentication code.
- Kit includes bacteriostatic water ampoules for reconstitution.
Important: Peptide products should be handled, reconstituted, and stored according to professional guidance and local regulations.
